JR PAT Testing services in Cambridgeshire
Having your electrical appliances tested is vital to ensure they continue to function correctly whilst also reducing the risks of accidents and potentially costly repairs. We are totally flexible with our hours, so we’ve got all your PAT Testing needs in Cambridgeshire covered.
Our customers in Cambridgeshire include NHS hospitals and trusts, schools, colleges, care homes, housing associations, property landlords, factories, contact centres, hotels, restaurants, cafés, factories, hair salons, retail shops, the construction industry, medical and dental practices and offices.
Typically, an engineer will arrive at your premises at a pre-arranged date and time and have all the necessary equipment to carry out a successful PAT Test. All our testing machines are calibrated and have the relevant certificates of validation. Our engineers and qualified PAT testers will work with you systematically throughout your work environment, performing a proper visual inspection of all leads and appliances. They will then test each portable appliance and all leads to establish if they are electrically safe to use. We follow your specific guidelines and if computers, servers, POS hardware need to be running continuously, we will conduct a thorough visual inspection in order to avoid any unnecessary power outages of vital equipment.
If your appliances pass, our PAT testers will place a sticker to confirm the pass date. If failed, we will advise you on what needs to be fixed (if possible) or that the appliance needs to be removed. Our PAT tester can carry out minor repairs free of charge. However, larger repairs may need extra attention.
Booking a PAT test
There is some useful information that would be helpful to know in advance:
Approximately how many appliances require testing?
When were they last tested?
Are there any items of equipment that cannot be unplugged? For example, POS equipment in shops, computer servers or specialist medical equipment?
What date and time would you prefer our engineer to attend?
After your PAT test
Upon completion of the PAT test, a report will be e-mailed in EXCEL format that gives a clear breakdown of all test results. All appliances tested and inspected are identified by ID numbers, by department and confirming their PASS or FAIL status. We always issue a certificate for your records and discuss with you an agreed next due test date. This can vary according to the nature of the environment and types of appliances, frequency of usage, electrical risk etc. We will work closely with you to maintain full compliance in accordance with H&S guidelines.

Cambridgeshire is a low-lying, largely agricultural county in the east of England. At 9ft below sea level, Holme Fen is the lowest point in the whole of the UK. The River Cam is the main river that flows through the county.
Cambridge is the county town and is of course, famous for The University of Cambridge. Education and research are significant employers, as are the technology, biotech and software sectors – Cambridge is at the heart of the county’s so-called ‘Silicon Fen’. Microsoft Research UK are among the companies based here. Cambridge has a mixed economy, with a higher than average proportion of people in managerial and administrative positions. Cambridge also has world class health facilities, including Royal Papworth Hospital and Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Pharmaceuticals and tourism add to the area’s economy.
As well as Cambridge, another main area of population is Peterborough. With its agricultural heritage, the county has many market towns, such as St Ives, Wisbech, Huntingdon, Chatteris, March and Ely, which is also a Cathedral City.
The service sector is an important part of the Cambridgeshire economy as a whole, while the Royal Air Force (RAF) also has a strong presence in Cambridgeshire.
